5 Steps to Encountering the Spirit of God

I mediate in the Holy Spirit pretty much consistently on the level rooftop of our home in Guatemala. The previous evening, I had a strong encounter with Him. He came to me twice in an astounding intensity of light that was so bright, brimming with fire, practically blinding.

I needed to close my eyes and bow my head. (This was not a satanic power. I was adoring Jesus on my knees, supplicating in the Holy Spirit, announcing His devotion to His Word, and welcoming Him to come in His completion.) The first opportunity it originated from a distance right to me.

It was so incredible it scared me from the outset. The second time it was right on the rooftop close to me and came right upon me. I share this since we have gone into another period of God's capacity and as we stroll through these last days we should encounter the intensity of His completion.

5 Steps to Have an Encounter With the Spirit



1. Peruse, study and live His Word. "This Book of the Law must not withdraw from your mouth. Ruminate over it day and night with the goal that you may act cautiously as per all that is written in it. For then you will advance effective, and you will be savvy" (Josh. 1:8).

2. Love the Lord in Spirit and in truth. "God is Spirit, and the individuals who love Him must love Him in spirit and truth" (John 4:24).

3. Implore in tongues. "For he who talks in an obscure tongue doesn't address men, however to God. For nobody understands him, in spite of the fact that in the spirit, he talks riddles" (1 Cor. 14:2).

4. Pronounce the Word of God over ourselves as we implore. "For the expression of God is alive, and dynamic, and more honed than any two-edged sword, puncturing even to the division of soul and spirit, of joints and marrow, and ready to pass judgment on the considerations and expectations of the heart" (Heb. 4:12).

5. Welcome and hang tight for Him to come to us in His totality. "At the point when the day of Pentecost had come, they were all together in one spot. All of a sudden a sound like a strong hurrying breeze originated from paradise, and it filled the entire house where they were sitting. There appeared to them tongues as of fire, being circulated and laying on every one of them, and they were altogether filled with the Holy Spirit and began to talk in other tongues, as the Spirit empowered them to speak" (Acts 2:1-4).
